Kwara: Secondary School student drown in Gbagba, Ilorin West LG

A yet-to-be-identified student of Junior Secondary School, Gbagba, Ilorin, Kwara State has drowned in a river at Gbagba community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to Newsmen, he was said to have come to the stream with some of his friends to swim, however drowned leading to his friends taking to their heels.

“We saw no fewer than 6 of the Gbagba Secondary School students at the river, suddenly we held loud crying, upon rushing down, we discovered that one of the Students had drowned, leading to his friends taking to their hills.

“Before we could rescue him, he already died and we saw signs on his head which is likely as a result of him hitting his head on the rock,” the local online newspaper quoted an eyewitness identified as Mutiu as saying.
