Kwara News: Fire razes 30 Shops in Oro Central Market

On Monday fire gazed Oro Central Market in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to newsmen, thirty (30) Shops, with Goods and Valuable worth millions destroyed in the fire incident.

Information gathered revealed that, the incident occurred around about 3 p.m on Monday.

The Spokesperson of the state fire service, Hakeem Adekunle, revealed the cause of the incident. The cause was due to the careless burning of refuse by yet-to-be-identified person(s).

“Out of the 354 shops in the market area, 30 shops were consumed by the fire” Hakeem Adekunle revealed.

He added that, “the remaining ones were rescued by the firemen.”

Spokesperson of the state fire service, Hakeem Adekunle other statements on the incident

“According to our officers present at the scene, the inferno was caused due to the careless refuses to burn by one unknown person, and spread to a shop, and later escalated to many other shops in that vicinity area.”

He, thereby, charged all to be cautious of fire safety responsibility in order to drastically reduce the incessant fire outbreaks that have been happening in our state.
