Young Harvey Elliott suffered a serious injury on Sunday after an unfortunate tackle from a Leeds United defender.
The gesture is unfortunate rather than brutal on the part of the Dutch (and Belgian in part) Pascal Struijk at the hour mark, but the consequences are terrible: Harvey Elliott, a young talent of 18 years that Jürgen Klopp had chosen to establish on right flank, sees his ankle break and has to go out on a stretcher, screaming in pain.
In a statement released by the Liverpool FC, Elliott “is out of hospital” and will have to undergo surgery in the coming days. The club will then say more about the period of unavailability of his winger, which should be counted in months if the ligaments have been affected.
“Harvey, his family and Liverpool FC would like to thank the paramedics and all staff at Leeds General Hospital for the care and treatment provided,” the Reds statement concluded.
