Popular American rapper and music producer Southside has been arrested on a weapons charge in Aventura, according to multiple reports.
Joshua Luellen, as he is known in real life, was arrested on Sunday, March 14, charged with carrying a concealed firearm and knowingly driving with a suspended license, according to an arrest report.
The report says an officer pulled over Luellen after he was seen driving a Mercedes pickup with a “heavily tinted windshield.”
Luellen told the officer that he had a Georgia driver’s license, but that he did not have it with him, and a record check showed that Luellen’s Florida license had been suspended since May 2019, according to the report.
It was also indicated in the report that Luellen had a pistol between his shoes and another on the floor behind the passenger seat. They were both fully charged.
Luellen said he had a hidden gun permit card, but a background check showed that he had been suspended for unknown reasons, the report added.
“I informed Joshua that he was violating his CCW permit by having the firearms within reach and not stored in the glove compartment or in a box inside the vehicle,” the officer wrote in the report.
Luellen was arrested and jailed before being released on a $ 5,500 bond, records showed.
